Is JavaScript becoming obsolete?

The simple answer is no. JavaScript is in use in nearly every browser installed on any device on the planet. We’re talking probably a billion or more individual runtime environments.

It also has a wide variety of use cases, from apps to browser-based games with frameworks like Phaser, to server-side development with Node, cutting-edge front-end frameworks like React and Angular, desktop applications with Electron, mobile apps with React Native, and more. It’s even got a presence in IoT.

And there are jobs in it. Year over year, the Stack Overflow developer survey shows JavaScript as the most in-demand programming language in the world. More so than Python, Go, C# or any other you can name.

So no, JavaScript is not becoming obsolete. It is more relevant in 2020 than literally any other programming language.

Hope that helps!
